LIFE DRAWING

Image
LIFE DRAWING Today we had to do life drawings of a woman. This was my first time life drawing so it took me a while to get the hang of, however it was a really good experience & improved my body drawing skills as before this it was something I really struggled with. I find proportions very difficult to get right when drawing bodies, so this was very helpful for me as having someone to draw from right infront of you is a lot easier than drawing from a screen. My favourite piece from these sketches is the black & white drawing I did using charcoal & white pastel on black paper. This piece looks peaceful & I really like the way the highlighted rectangular shapes look on the body.

Mixing the two ideas, I created a crying woman with her identity masked by the curved patterns on her face.  For this piece I used acrylic paint, white pens & coloured pencils.

I decided I wanted to look at our viewpoint of ourselves & others as I feel I can best translate this into art, whereas other ideas I would struggle with due to lack of knowledge on the topic & what to draw or create that represents this idea. My Ideas & Possible Outcomes: My initial ideas were based around the way in which we view ourselves & others. Many people struggle with body dysmorphia and/or self image which can hugely affect their confidence & life, they will commonly compare themselves to someone else. I want to show...
